Short story: Bitch

Lie in bed. Discontented. Alone. Not sleeping. White sheets, crisp and clean.

An empty second pillow with an accusing space and an unwashed pillowcase and a scent that ads to the feeling of blank space.

White walls. Grand mirror echoing dark wooden furniture suite so it bounces across the walls. Hard white face, returning a tense stare.

Lie in bed. Alone. Too listless to get up. Too tense to sleep. Too tired to eat. Too irritable to watch TV. Too restless to lie still.

Too difficult to fathom why she left.

This is the result of a fifteen minute writing exercise. The only constrictions were the time limit and five randomly selected words from the dictionary. Today the words were: hard, discontented, sleeping, fathom, and bitch.
